Bruno Kisch (1890-1966) was a medical doctor biochemist, and Jewish scholar. He was one of the founders of the Juedisches Lehrhaus in Colone and taught experimental medicine, physiology, and biochemistry at the University there until 1936, when he was forced to leave Nazi Germany. Rudolph Kohn Keller was born in 1875 in Schlackenwerth near Karlsbad in Bohemia/Austria. Trained as a biochemist, he married into the family who published the Prager Tageblatt and other newspapers. In 1939 he emigrated to Great Britain and later to the United States where he returned his focus to biochemistry.
